Resize without stretching

Keep the proportions. Reduce the pixels you do not need.

1. Find the destination’s pixel limit

Check the requirements of the website, document or application that will receive your image. Pixel dimensions describe its width and height; file size describes the amount of storage it uses. They are related, but they are not interchangeable.

2. Choose Limit dimensions

Under Dimensions in Settings, select Limit dimensions and enter the maximum dimension in pixels. The image is fitted within the limit while keeping its aspect ratio. The control does not crop the image or force it into a square.

For example, a 4000 × 3000 image limited to 1200 pixels should fit within 1200 × 900. An image already below the limit does not need to be enlarged. Choose Keep original dimensions when you only want to adjust compression or format.

3. Add a test image

Choose the remaining quality and format settings before importing. Add one original image first, then check the dimensions shown on its result card.

If a small logo or text becomes unclear, use a larger limit. Resizing cannot recreate detail that is missing from the source, so avoid repeatedly processing an already reduced copy.

4. Apply the settings to the batch

Once the test looks right, add the remaining originals. A shared maximum dimension will produce different widths and heights for images with different proportions. Download the results individually or prepare a ZIP.
